At Play policies
Our policies
At Play is a community space built on trust, care, and a shared commitment to making every visit safe and welcoming. These policies apply to all guests — children and adults alike.
Waivers
Every child and adult visiting At Play must have a signed waiver on file before entering the space. Waivers can be completed in advance online or at check-in. By signing, all guests agree to comply with our policies and regulations, which may be updated from time to time.
Shoes and socks
At Play is a no-shoe space. All guests are asked to remove shoes upon entry. Non-slip socks are provided for children. Adults are welcome to wear any socks or use the shoe covers we provide at the door.
Peanut-free space
At Play is a peanut-free environment. Please do not bring peanuts or peanut-containing products into the space. This policy exists to protect our most vulnerable guests and we appreciate your cooperation.
Food and drink
All eating and drinking must take place in the café and on wooden floor areas in the playroom. Please keep all food and drink out of the play areas — most easily identified by their cork and padded mat surfaces. We ask that all guests clean up after enjoying café items.
Play area
Tidying up after play is always appreciated but never required — we're here to help, and to give you a break. Our staff will take care of it. When the Roots Room and Wings Room are open for family use, children must be supervised at all times and the room should be left as it was found.
Health and wellness
For the health and safety of all guests and staff, children who are visibly ill or displaying symptoms — including fever, cough, runny nose, rash, or stomach issues — are not permitted in the play space. If a child appears unwell, we reserve the right to ask the child and their guardian to leave. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you err on the side of caution for the benefit of our whole community.
Adult visitors
At Play is a space for children and their caregivers. All adults visiting the space are expected to be accompanied by a child. Adults entering briefly to grab a coffee to go, use the restroom, or wait for another caregiver arriving with a child are welcome. If you have any questions, please ask a staff member.
Bathrooms
We have three all-gender bathrooms in the building, two of which are ADA compliant and equipped with changing tables. Diapers, wipes, tampons, pads, and bandaids are available for your convenience. Please flush toilet paper only.
Noise sensitivity
Headphone sets are available for noise reduction. Please ask any staff member and we'll be happy to help.
Private events and gatherings
Birthday parties and similar gatherings are not permitted during open play hours without a prior event reservation. Reservations must be made in advance and scheduled during designated times. Any attempt to host a private gathering during open play hours may result in removal from the premises.
Classroom use
Our classrooms — the Roots Room, Wings Room, and Rainbow Room — are occasionally available as shared spaces for families, as indicated by the Open/Closed sign on each door. When open, they are welcome spaces for play, feeding a baby, or a quiet moment away from the main playroom.
Each room is also available for rental by pre-approved outside programmers and clinicians, subject to manager approval and alignment with At Play's mission and values. The classrooms are not available for private drop-in meetings or gatherings by members or guests. To inquire about room rental, please contact us at hello@playrbk.com.
We appreciate your patience, support, and participation in making At Play a welcoming and safe space for every family who walks through our doors.
