Meet the TEACHERS

  • The Science of Babies

Leigh Scott’s training in the Feldenkrais and Child’Space Methods, combined with her broad study of attachment research by Dan Seigel and other social neuroscientists, has lead to her integrative approach to the body/brain connection as it relates to baby development.

Leigh’s 40 years in these fields of study, including extensive bodywork training and hands-on experience handling hundreds of infants, has given her skills that she shares with parents for babies with any kind of developmental delay. This includes typically developing babies who just haven’t found the specific kinesthetic cues they need to learn the next motor function.

Leigh’s respectful and gentle touch can identify restrictions due to tongue tie, torticollis, birth trauma, colic, reflux, autism and many neuromuscular issues. Babies from birth to independent walking respond and progress remarkably fast as Leigh’s playful attention sparks their brain to learn.

Leigh always invites the whole family to join into their baby’s sensory world and offers lessons just for adults. They not only learn how to assist their baby’s development but also acquire skills for reducing their own stress. Leigh’s passion for this work is infectious!

  • Erin Forrester - Owner/Artist @ArtPartyRhinebeck

Erin’s “why” comes from seeing the realization or spark when a little finds something that connects, whether in art, books or nature. She is a self-taught artist (@againstudioco), and a practiced writer. Her business was born through a newfound therapy discovered in the time she was spending creating.  Erin has taken art classes her whole life and grew up surrounded by a DIY-minded family. Previously schooled in the art of words as an English major, art was always a way for her to relax.  From a dynamic career in sales, focus shifted and landed her full time with her three boys. She subbed in the boys’ preschools and also taught a toddler program called, The Little Artist’s Club. Facilitating a connection between people and creativity became a kind of passion project. Classes for all ages help to keep things interesting. Most recently, Erin has focused her own creativity in paper mache clay, making bowls, vessels & pendant lamps. A Dutchess county native, Erin lives in Rhinebeck with her husband, boys and two pups.
